At Our House Recovery Homes, residents move through a three-phase structure that supports gradual growth, accountability, and independence in sobriety. Each phase comes with its own expectations and privileges, and progression is based on consistent adherence to house guidelines.

Phase 1: Buddy System (Initial Week)

• All new residents begin in Phase 1, which includes a buddy system for accountability and support during the first week.

• Residents must:

  • Follow all house rules and guidelines

  • Complete daily assigned chores

  • Attend all required programming (meetings, counseling, etc.)

  • Remain completely abstinent from drugs and alcohol

• This phase is designed to help residents adjust to the structure and responsibilities of sober living.

Phase 2: Increased Independence

• After successfully completing the first week and meeting all Phase 1 expectations, residents advance to Phase 2.

• The buddy system is no longer required, but residents must continue to:

  • Follow house rules

  • Keep up with chores

  • Participate in programming

  • Maintain sobriety

• Curfew times:

  • 10:00 PM – Sunday through Thursday

  • 12:00 AM (Midnight) – Friday and Saturday

Phase 3: Privileges & Trust

• Residents who demonstrate continued responsibility and stability over time may move into Phase 3.

• This phase offers additional privileges, including:

  • 1-hour weekend curfew extension (curfew becomes 1:00 AM on Friday and Saturday)

  • Overnight passes, with at least 24 hours’ advance notice and staff approval

• Residents must still uphold all responsibilities from Phases 1 and 2 to remain in good standing.

How Do I Move Between Phases?

Progression through the phases is earned, not automatic. Advancement is based on your ability to meet expectations consistently, maintain sobriety, and show accountability. The house staff will assess your readiness for each new phase and communicate any changes.
